French audio maker, Focal, aims to expand its range of high-end headphones with the launch of Focal Clear. Released as part of their “For Home” collection, the Clear finds itself in good company with Elear and Utopia, both released just last year.

Build Quality and Design

The Clear has a solid aluminum frame which makes every unit of it feels solidly built. The microfibre ear cushions have 1mm micro-perforations that further enhance the open space effect that open-back headphones have.

At the centerpiece of the Clear’s design are the leather headband and aluminum yoke. This mimics the familiar design of the Elear.

Patent Pending Technology

The Clear features patent-pending full-range speaker with M-profile aluminum/magnesium dome. This M-profile dome offers an optimal combination of low weight, high rigidity and excellent damping, thus preserving the pristine quality of your music.

Connectivity and Compatibility

The Focal Clear comes with 3 different wired connectivity features.

  • It can be connected to any mobile device using the 3.5mm audio jack, to a stereo amplifier
  • speaker using the 6.35mm audio jack.
  • a 4 pin XLR audio jack has been supplied for high fidelity audio output from speakers.

Although there are no wireless options, you can still use it wirelessly by using any Bluetooth DAC adapters like Creative SoundBlaster E3 and Astell & Kern XB10.
