These earbuds can now stream from almost anything thanks to their upgraded smart case.

Jabra has introduced the second generation of its Elite 8 Active and Elite 10 earbuds, featuring “the world’s first LE Audio smart case.”

This new case has a built-in Bluetooth LE audio chip that lets you wirelessly stream from any device with USB-C or 3.5mm ports. Meaning, you can plug the case into different audio sources, like gym equipment, in-flight entertainment systems, or other devices without Bluetooth. Then, stream the audio wirelessly to your earbuds.

It improves connectivity by letting the earbuds get audio from more types of devices. And, the case also makes the audio better with lower latency and Hi-Fi sound quality through the LC3 codec.

But the upgrades aren’t just in the case.

“With these next-generation buds we’ve stepped up those features which we know matter most – improved noise-cancelling and enhanced situational awareness – while for the first time bringing innovative LE Audio streaming to the charging case, making it possible to connect to just about anything, anywhere.” says Ehtisham Rabbani, Jabra’s Chief Executive of the Gaming & Consumer Division.

Aside from the LE Audio case, the new Jabra Elite 8 Active also have better spatial sound powered by Dolby Audio for a more immersive music experience.

Dolby Atmos adds height channels to the audio. This creates a 3D soundscape where audio moves above and around the listener, making it ideal for movies, games, and VR content.

The earbuds also come with an improved Adaptive Hybrid ANC that can block up to twice as much noise as the previous generation. So, you can expect better noise cancellation in different situations, like noisy gyms and airports.

But Jabra didn’t stop there. They also added ‘Natural HearThrough technology’ for the ambient mode.

This feature is said to be twice as good as the previous generation. Besides the clearer ambient sound, it also reduces the distracting wind noise so you can focus on what matters most.

And for those who rely on their earbuds for calls, the Elite 8 Active Gen 2 have you covered.

With six microphones, wind-protecting mesh, and advanced noise-cancellation algorithms, you can expect very clear call quality in any environment.

As part of the Elite Active line, these earbuds are designed for intense activities. The secure wing-free fit with Jabra ShakeGripTM technology, IP68 rating for the earbuds, and IP54 rating for the case all work together to make sure these earbuds can keep up with your active lifestyle.

To top it off, they also offer up to 8 hours of battery life, which goes up to 32 hours with the case (ANC on). And, they support extra features like stable smartwatch connectivity, Swift Pair, Google Fast Pair, and Spotify Tap playback, along with Bluetooth Multipoint connection.

The Elite 10 Gen 2 are a lot like the Elite 8 Active Gen 2. They have the new LE Audio smart case, better spatial sound with Dolby Audio, improved ANC, the new Natural HearThrough technology, and their extra features.

However, the Elite 10 Gen 2 stand out with some unique features as they’re made for the more general users.

This includes Dolby Headtracking on top of the Dolby Atmos support for a more immersive audio experience compared to the Elite 8 Active Gen 2.

Dolby Headtracking adjusts the sound based on the movement of your head. This creates a natural listening experience by keeping the sound field anchored in space.

Plus, the Elite 10 Gen 2 also have a semi-open design with Jabra ComfortFit technology for all-day comfort and rich bass from the 10mm drivers.

Yet, these earbuds have a slightly lower IP rating of IP57 compared to the Elite 8 Active Gen 2’s IP68 rating. But, that’s enough for most outdoor activities so it’s not that much of a dealbreaker for casual users

The battery life of the Elite 10 Gen 2 is also slightly different. They offer 6 hours of usage, which goes up to 27 hours with the case (ANC on).
