Some customers cross lines that can’t be uncrossed.

A Boomer’s constant complaints about vinyl prices finally backfired at a local record store.

The long-time customer spent years bothering other shoppers about vinyl costs while barely spending money himself. And, when his behavior escalated to making a teenage girl uncomfortable, the owner decided enough was enough.

A record store owner finally banned a longtime customer after years of disruptive behavior and endless complaints about vinyl prices.

The man, in his mid-60s, would show up at the shop monthly but rarely bought anything over $1. Instead, he spent his visits complaining about one vendor’s prices and taking up other shoppers’ time.

The final straw came when the man approached a teenage girl browsing the record section.

According to the owner, he stepped into her personal space and started telling her that the records she was looking at were too expensive. Then, he went on to recommend another store in a nearby town with better prices.

The owner, who was at the counter and heard everything, immediately spoke up: “I know you’re not telling someone to go somewhere else right in front of me”

Though the man tried to backpedal, he kept talking to the girl until her mother stepped in.

Later, while checking out, the mother thanked the owner for watching the situation, saying the man had made her daughter uncomfortable.

So, when the man came to pay for his items, the owner gave him a final warning.

He told the man that he could shop there, but he needed to stop bothering other customers, especially teenage girls.

The man got angry, insisting he had the right to talk to whoever he wanted. But, the owner didn’t back down.

“Finally I told him that nobody came here to talk to him and he was just bothering people. He wouldn’t shut up, so I just told him he wasn’t welcome here anymore.” he shared.

Enraged, the man stormed out, yelling that he would “get the word out” about how he was treated.

Reddit Supports Store Owner’s Decision

Reddit users overwhelmingly supported the store owner’s decision, with many saying he should have banned the man years ago.

Other users also couldn’t help but joke about the man’s threats to “get the word out.” In fact, many of them doubt he had much of a social circle to spread the word to.

It turns out, however, that the record store owner’s experience wasn’t rare. There are also some users who jumped in with their own similar experiences.

“I’ve lost count of the boomers who spend $2 a month that I’ve kicked out of my hardware store over the years for their obnoxious behavior,” one commenter noted.

Another recalled a similar experience at their former job, where a store manager had to ban a man for making inappropriate comments to a teenage employee. The man’s wife later called the store to complain, claiming her husband was unfairly treated and that the young employee “didn’t know how to take a compliment.”

In the end, the general consensus was that the store owner had done the right thing.
