Samsung’s next earbuds appear designed around fixing the Buds3 Pro’s most criticized flaws.

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds3 Pro split opinion with their blade-like stems and limited battery life. But early signs suggest the Galaxy Buds4 Pro are meant to address those pain points, with rumors pointing to a February 2026 launch alongside the Galaxy S26.

Here’s everything we know about this upcoming launch.

When Is the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro Release Date?

Samsung ties flagship earbuds to flagship phones.

ModelLaunch DateLaunched With
Galaxy Buds ProJanuary 2021Galaxy S21
Galaxy Buds2 ProAugust 2022Galaxy Z Fold4/Flip4
Galaxy Buds3 ProJuly 2024Galaxy Z Fold6/Flip6

That pattern points toward the Buds4 Pro accompanying the Galaxy S26 at Galaxy Unpacked on February 25, 2026.

The evidence has mounted quickly. FCC certification under IDs A3LSMR640L and A3LSMR640R appeared in late December, listing model number SM-R640.

Firmware version R640XXU0AYI1 also surfaced on Samsung’s servers within One UI 8.5 beta 3, with reported codenames including “Bach” for the Pro model and “Handel” for the standard Buds4.

What Will the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro Look Like?

The Buds3 Pro’s sharp, angular stems divided users. The Buds4 Pro reportedly adopt a flatter stem profile, ditching the blade-like design entirely. SoundGuys confirms the signature LED blade lights are gone, replaced by a new animation system.

Colors expand too. The Buds3 series stuck to silver and white only, frustrating users who wanted variety. Android Authority’s leaked renders show an Apricot finish with metallic stem accents, exclusive to the Pro model, joining the returning Gray/Silver and White.

“The Apricot finish seems to sit right between soft pink and warm peach,” a YouTube reviewer noted. “It feels playful without being loud and stylish without trying too hard.”

The charging case gets a redesign as well. The new boxy case houses earbuds horizontally rather than vertically, departing from Samsung’s traditional pill-like shape.

Plus, while Samsung adjusted the ear tip angles, stem vents carry over from the Buds3 lineup.

What Features Can We Expect From the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro?

Closing the battery gap

The Buds3 Pro managed just 4.5 hours with ANC enabled. Sony’s WF-1000XM5 nearly doubles that at 8 hours.

That’s why the Buds4 Pro are rumored to increase battery capacity. Recent leak updates suggest 57mAh rated capacity per earbud, with 61mAh typical capacity, up from the Buds3 Pro’s 53mAh typical.

Bluetooth 5.4 could also help with efficiency gains.

FCC filings show 84.1% BLE efficiency, and leaks mention Galaxy AI power management working alongside the hardware improvements.

Nod to accept, shake to decline

Nod to accept. Shake to decline. Samsung’s head gesture system is expected to let users handle calls and give quick yes/no responses to the assistant without lifting a finger.

This approach resembles AirPods-style gestures but fits Samsung’s broader push toward gesture-based interaction. Earbuds become input devices, not just listening accessories.

Newer leak updates suggest gestures may be more limited than earlier reports (for example, focused on call handling plus Bixby yes/no), and may not support dismissing alarms/timers/calendar/reminders. However, specific supported interactions remain unconfirmed.

Record what you hear, not just what you play

360-degree audio recording is rumored for the Buds4 Pro, aimed at content creators recording video on Galaxy devices. Galaxy AI is expected to handle processing, with adaptive audio adjusting to environmental conditions.

Noise cancellation gets an AI boost

Nearly a third of Samsung users want stronger noise cancellation. A SoundGuys survey of 891 respondents put ANC improvement second only to battery life on the wishlist.

The Buds4 Pro continue the Buds3 Pro’s Adaptive Noise Control while adding deeper Galaxy AI integration. Leak reports promise improved depth, but we won’t know until release.

Seamless switching across Galaxy devices

Bluetooth 5.4 upgrades the Buds3 Pro’s 5.3 connection with lower latency and better efficiency. Switching between Galaxy phones, tablets, and watches should happen automatically.

A new “Find Your Phone” feature pings your Galaxy smartphone from the earbuds.

SamMobile suggests Ultra-Wideband may also arrive for precision tracking, though evidence for that remains thin.

What Do Users Want From the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro?

Samsung appears to be listening. Selectively.

SoundGuys surveyed 882 users about their priorities for the next Galaxy Buds Pro. Here’s how the leaks stack up:

  • âś“ Longer battery life (37%). The Buds3 Pro trailed competitors badly. The 57mAh upgrade responds directly.
  • âś“ Better ANC (32%). Leak reports promise improved depth and deeper Galaxy AI integration.
  • âś— Lower prices (15%). Samsung’s trajectory suggests the opposite. Prices will climb, not drop.
  • ? Better call quality (12%). Whether the Buds4 Pro address in-call noise reduction remains unclear.
  • âś“ Refined voice commands (4%). Head gestures and AI assistant improvements cover this.

Samsung heard the feedback. Expect to pay for it.

How Much Will the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro Cost?

Samsung’s flagship earbuds climb about $20 per generation.

ModelPriceYear
Galaxy Buds Pro$199.992021
Galaxy Buds2 Pro$229.992022
Galaxy Buds3 Pro$249.992024
Galaxy Buds4 Pro~$269.99 (estimated)2026

At that price, Samsung would slot between Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 ($249 MSRP, frequently $199) and Sony’s WF-1000XM5 ($299.99 at launch, now around $225).

The bigger battery and new features may justify the premium for Samsung loyalists. Everyone else gets to wait for the inevitable discount.
