“Great Scott!”

Cambridge Audio teams up with DeLorean Motor Company to introduce the special Evo 150 DeLorean Edition. This edition builds on the acclaimed Evo 150 integrated amplifier and network player, with an upgraded design paying tribute to the DeLorean DMC-12, a car famous for its role in the ‘Back to the Future’ movies.

The Evo 150 DeLorean Edition is the first Delorean-inspired Cambridge Audio product since their partnership started in 2022. In turn, Cambridge Audio is also expected to design the in-car sound system of the upcoming Delorean Alpha5.

“From day one, the relationship between our two brands has been fuelled by a bold attitude and an emotional connection to the music we all love. This special edition reveals the bare bones of the Evo 150 in all its glory and reflects the design attributes that have made DeLorean iconic.” says James Johnson-Flint, owner of Cambridge Audio.

Cambridge Audio has taken design inspiration directly from the iconic DeLorean DMC-12. This presents a high-performance chassis with meticulously crafted brushed bodywork and elegant silver detailing.

As a result, the Evo 150 DeLorean Edition boasts a sleek, brushed metal body and interchangeable magnetic side panels.

These panels allow users to switch between two designs. First is a nostalgic ’80s design, reminiscent of the DMC-12’s front grille and logo. And, second, is a modern aesthetic featuring DeLorean’s upcoming ultra-luxury sports car logo.

The amplifier’s user interface is easy to use and visually appealing. It features a dual-concentric rotary dial and a large 6.8-inch LCD panel that displays digital album artwork in full color. This display aims to make browsing and selecting music an engaging experience.

Beyond its striking design, the Evo 150 DeLorean Edition is also a powerhouse of sound.

Under the hood, the Evo 150 DeLorean Edition packs a powerful 150W amplification, capable of driving most speaker pairs. This ensures an immersive and emotional listening experience, especially when paired with the acoustically matched Evo S Bookshelf speaker.

Vinyl enthusiasts are also not left behind. The built-in MM phono stage makes it easy to connect a turntable, allowing users to enjoy their record collections with minimal fuss.

Along with the announcement of the Evo 150 DeLorean Edition is an upcoming software update for all Evo devices. This is expected to introduce a Volume Units (VU) display option on the Evo’s 6.8-inch screen. It will mimic the dials of old amps and the speed dials in the iconic DMC-12 time machine.
