Just pinch the Nothing Ear and Ear (a) and start asking questions anywhere you go.

Nothing has recently launched the world’s first earbuds with ChatGPT integration – the Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a).

Users can activate ChatGPT quickly by just pinching and holding the earbud’s stem. That is, as long as they have the ChatGPT app installed and a compatible Nothing smartphone.

This new ChatGPT feature is only available on the Ear and Ear (a) when paired with Phone (2). But, Nothing plans to extend this feature to Phone (1) and Phone (2a) users through software updates later this month.

The company is also actively checking the audio ChatGPT feature to make it available across their entire range by June.

Besides the ChatGPT feature, the Nothing Ear earbuds offer substantial improvements over the previous Ear (2) model.

These earbuds are built around a new ceramic driver that sharpens sound clarity and accuracy.

This material is known for its excellent frequency response and overall sound quality, which is unusual in audio products. Because of this, the vibration amplitude increases by 110% compared to Ear (2), resulting in stronger and more powerful bass. Plus, its particular stiffness also allows for crisper high notes.

The Nothing Ear also support high-resolution 24-bit audio streaming through advanced Bluetooth codecs. This includes LDAC (up to 990kbps, 24-bit/96kHz) and LHDC (up to 1Mbps, 24-bit/192kHz) for powerful audio with minimal compromises.

The active noise cancellation has also been increased to an impressive 45dB, which is nearly twice as effective as the previous model.

For calls, the new microphone design includes an additional vent to better handle wind. They also have improvements in voice technology that reduce call interference by 60% compared to Ear (2).

Battery life has been extended by 25% over their predecessor. Case in point, the Nothing Ear have up to 40.5 hours of playback with the case and 8.5 hours of continuous use on a single charge.

For times when you need a quick power boost, a 10-minute charge provides an extra 10 hours of playback. So, you always have enough listening time throughout your day.

The Nothing Ear (a) are the budget-friendly counterparts of the Nothing Ear.

While they don’t have the ceramic drivers or LHDC codec support found in the Ear, these earbuds make up for it with their unique design language and longer battery life.

Inspired by Nothing’s philosophy of simplifying designs to basic colors and simple elements, the Ear (a) headphones display a fresh, bubble-like look in a bright yellow color. This color choice reflects the brand’s minimalist yet fun approach to product design.

The case is also influenced by every day pill packets.

Created for easy carrying, this features a distinct bubble-like shape that is not only eye-catching but also practical. It has a slim, rectangular shape that fits easily into pockets, along with a very light build.

The case and earbuds together weigh just 49.2 grams, with each earbud weighing only 4.8 grams.

Their design also includes a better microphone system, similar to the Nothing Ear.

Internally, the Ear (a) are equipped with an 11 mm dynamic driver that provides excellent sound quality. This is improved further by LDAC codec support for clearer audio with reduced distortion.

The Ear (a) also step up their game with smart active noise cancellation. This automatically checks for noise leakage between the earbud and your ear canal. Then, it adjusts the noise cancellation as needed.
