British car audio and high-end home theatre manufacturers Bowers & Wilkins have taken the battle to Bose QC35 by launching Bowers & Wilkins PX, a pair of wireless headphones with adaptive noise cancellation technology.

Adaptive Noise Cancellation

There are 3 different noise cancellation modes (or environment filters as Bower and Wilkins calls it) that can be toggled on PX. They are Office, City and Flight modes. Each mode allows an appropriate amount of noise specific to each environment to be filtered. This will keep the listener safe and aware of his/her surroundings.

Office Mode

City Mode

Reduce city noise but allow you to stay aware of the environment around you.

Flight Mode

Minimize cabin sound and engine noise during flight.

Noise Cancellation can be toggle in the mobile application

The Noise Cancellation can also be controlled through a mobile app installed on a paired device.

Respond to natural body movement

Although the technology is not new, Bowers & Wilkin have successfully integrated it into the headphones – the PX responds naturally to your behavior. Playback is automatically paused when either one or both of the ear cups are removed from the ears and it resumes when placed back.

Made to Last

Durability can be the Achilles Heel for over-ear headphones. The ear cups’ cushion wears off and even if the sound drivers work, the unit becomes unusable. With the PX, Bowers & Wilkins used detachable ear cushions which can be replaced to ensure longevity.

The acoustic seal ensures negligible audio loss and gives you mesmerizing sound quality. A robust head strap keeps the headphone in place.

Sound Technology

The headphones connect to Android and iOS devices using the latest 4.1 Bluetooth technology. Codecs like AAC, aptX HD, and SBC are supported which makes the device useful for professional working environments too.

The right ear cup has volume control buttons and a button to switch Noise Cancellation off to enjoy music at the maximum quality possible.
