Just recently, Jaybird added two new pairs of wireless headphones to its latest lineup – an upgrade to last year’s Jaybird Freedom and the company’s attempt to give Apple’s AirPods a run for their money, the Jaybird Run.

Jaybird seems to have hit the proverbial two birds with one stone with their latest simultaneous release.

The Freedom 2 comes with double the Freedom’s battery life, clocking in at 8 hours with the cradle attached. It also brings with it a plethora of added comfort fit options, which, Jaybird claims, should allow the Freedom 2 to fit as many as 80% of the users out of the box.

Freedom 2 comes with swappable earbud tips and wings, as well as the all-new SpeedFit cable system that makes it easier for users to tighten and loosen the overall length of the wireless headphone.

While the Freedom 2 gave a proven product even more value, the Run warrants a much closer look.

At $179, the Jaybird Run is the closest thing on the market to Apple’s Airpods, both in terms of price and in what it brings to the table.

The Run’s package comes complete with earbuds, a carrying bag, a micro-USB charging cable, additional set of fins and tips for customisation and a charging case. The case automatically charges the Run’s batteries as soon as you close the lid.

The Run comes with a 4-hour battery life with an extra 8 hours, courtesy of the included small battery case. Additionally, charging in the battery case for 5 minutes will give you 1 hour of listening time.

A total departure from the company’s usual line of products, the Jaybird Run is essentially what happens when they cram in their many years of expertise in the industry into one product.

As a result, Jaybird has come up with an alternative to Apple’s Airpods well worth considering for those looking to break the norm.
