One gadget to stream, control, and amplify? That’s minimalism done right.

Volumio has just introduced the Motivo, a device that combines the convenience of an iPad with the high-fidelity audio capabilities of a top-notch music streamer.

Designed for audiophiles, Motivo works as a streamer, transport, and headphone amplifier, seamlessly integrating into both wired and wireless sound systems.

From a design viewpoint, the Motivo boasts a modern, functional design with an 8-inch touchscreen and a retro-styled haptic control dial.

Under the hood, it packs a high-end Sabre ES9038 digital-to-analog converter. This promises crystal-clear sound quality for even the highest-resolution audio files.

Connectivity-wise, the Motivo offers a range of options.

Audiophiles will appreciate the dual-output analog XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced outputs. This caters to various audio setups and allows for longer cable runs without loss of audio quality.

The Motivo also has a headphone amplifier with two 6.3mm jacks optimized for low and high-impedance headphones. However, only one pair of headphones can be connected at a time.

For digital output, it supports Coax S/PDIF, Toslink Optical, and I2S over HDMI connections. And, it also offers CD digitization and playback through a USB CD-ROM drive.

But the Motivo is more than just hardware.

Equipped with Volumio’s Premium software, it provides access to all major streaming services, such as Spotify, Tidal, and Qobuz.

The streamer also seamlessly integrates with Sonos, Google Cast speakers, and other wired systems. So, it basically fits perfectly into any home audio setup.

Other than that, the Motivo is designed with user-friendliness.

This is all thanks to the Manifest User Interface, which is accessible via web browsers or iOS and Android apps. Its automatic backup and sync feature keeps your settings and preferences secure for a smooth transition between devices.

But what really sets the Motivo apart are its AI-driven features. This includes:

  • Supersearch: An AI-driven search engine that plays music according to your preferences and curates personalized playlists.
  • Infinity Playback: Provides an unending flow of music tailored to your taste, perfect for discovering new tracks or enjoying a non-stop music session.
  • Related Albums and Artists: Motivo suggests new artists and albums as you listen, enriching your musical exploration.
