The problem is, he doesn’t really often list down his gaming gears in all his videos. So, finding the specific headphone brand and model he used in a specific video can be troublesome. Not all of us really have time to look through his 4000+ videos to see if he ever mentions the pair of headphones you’re interested in.

Who Is PewDiePie?
Born Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, PewDiePie was born on October 24, 1989. A native of Sweden, he later took up residence in Sussex, England. He now lives there with his wife, Marzia Bisognin. She had her own YouTube channel before but retired in 2018 to focus on other things.
PewDiePie started his YouTube channel sometime in 2010. His Let’s Play series on Minecraft was moderately successful. But it wasn’t until 2 years later that his channel would start to gain a large following. His gaming-centric videos and brand of humor found to appeal to a wide audience. Almost 11 years later, he still remains as popular as ever.
He’s become one of the richest YouTube celebrities with more than 110 million subscribers as of 2021. His fan base and influence have helped him garner an annual income amounting to around 930 million US dollars. This figure is based on the revenues of his YouTube videos, sales from online merchandise, and brand promotions.
One of these endorsement deals included a collaboration with Razer — a brand he has been using since the early years of his Youtube career.
What Are PewDiePie’s Headphones in 2021?
Just like any other celebrities who have reached a certain level of fame, it wasn’t long before companies came knocking at PewDiePie’s door. Each one with an endorsement deal in hand. Some of these deals actually resulted in special editions of his gaming gear.
From his custom Origin PC to his Ghost gaming mice, almost everything in his studio is a PewDiePie special edition. But one product that’s most prominent in almost all his videos are his Razer headphones. As his channel was beginning to become more popular, it’s easy to see he’s been using mostly Razer products.
Razer had obviously been paying attention to PewDiePie’s steady growth for years now. Aside from this year, they have already sponsored him several times before. In fact, their collaboration in 2017 even resulted in two special editions of Razer headphones — the Kraken Pro V2 and the Nari Ultimate.
Razer Nari Ultimate – PewDiePie Edition
The Nari Ultimate PE headphones were the second collaborative work between PewDiePie and Razer. They were made available to the public in December of 2019 to limited stock. A month before they were released, PewDiePie wore a pair as a teaser of sorts in his You Laugh, You Drink video.
They’re physically identical to the regular Nari Ultimate aside from the custom color scheme and the Bro Fist Logo on their sides and exteriors.
As any gamer would expect from Razer, the build is durable. They’re also a bit heavy, though; weighing 1.04 lbs. (almost half a kilo). Despite that, the earcups are comfortable to wear because of their thick padding.
Additionally, their 50 mm. drivers produce clean and crisp sounds. They use THX Spatial Audio to produce surround sound. Footsteps can easily be heard and “felt” during gameplay thanks to Razer’s built-in Hyper Sense. The haptic feedback complements each sound produced.
However, this feature becomes an annoyance when watching movies or listening to music as the haptic feedback reacts with each sound. It’s best to turn it off in the Synapse3 interface when not in-game mode.
Also, the wireless range maxes out at 40 feet (around 12 meters), but the battery life is poor. It only lasts for 5 hours.
Razer Kraken Pro V2 – PewDiePie Edition
Razer’s Kraken Pro V2 PE headphones were first unveiled in PewDiePie’s Huge Announcement video. They sport a red and black design which has become his signature color scheme. He still uses them to this day, alternating with the Nari Ultimate PE.
The Razer Kraken Pro V2 PE has a wired design, allowing them to have no latency. Their build is a bit bulky, but as expected from a Razer brand of headphones, the earcups are comfortable. The microphone is decent but accurately reproduces voice. They’re not too sensitive so as to pick up background noises.
Their 50 mm. drivers only produce average sounds. The heavy bass-driven sounds are good for gaming, but only decent with other media.
However, unlike the Razer Nari Ultimate, this model lacks two advanced tech features: the Razer Synapse support and virtual surround sound.
That’s why, while the Kraken Pro V2 PE performs decently for gaming and home theater use, the only thing ramping up its value is PewDiePie’s name. It’s a good buy for collection purposes. Otherwise, there are better options out there to choose from.

Ten years is a long time, and even longer for YouTube celebrities to stay relevant. But PewDiePie makes it seem effortless. And one thing that stays consistent is his image. This pair of wired headphones have a lightweight aluminum frame for a solid and durable build. The over-the-ear earcups are quite comfortable. Their minimalistic white color scheme complements the open-back design. The retractable microphone is good for online chats.
The bass-heavy sounds stumble a bit while the treble and higher ranges are weak. It’s not that bad, however, users may notice a lack of ambiance when compared to other gaming headsets. The good news is they perform consistently across other media.
Overall, the Kraken Gaming Headset are surprisingly light on features. They’re a good choice if you’re looking for a gaming headset to match your gaming rig’s white aesthetics.
2016: Corsair H2100 Wireless Gaming Headset
What do you do if you enjoy the comfort of a pair of headphones but you don’t have an endorsement deal with their manufacturer? Why, customize them until they’re barely recognizable of course! This was what probably went on in PewDiePie’s mind when he wore the Corsair H2100 in 2016.
One of their earliest appearances was in this video. Using some black tape, green and pink paint he created what could be prototypes of his Pewdiepie edition headphones which were to appear a year later.
The Corsair H2100 Wireless Gaming Headset have a black color scheme with yellow and blue accents. They’re a bit oversized but that’s only a minor issue. The gray earcups also complement the overall look. And with their pivoting microphone, the Corsair H2100 provide a sleek and solid build overall.
The mic delivers clean voices in online chats. Also, the H2100 comes with a USB dongle so you can use it from up to 40 feet away (around 12 meters). And the supported 7.1 surround sound channel pumps up nice ambient noises and background sounds. These result in immersive listening experiences for gamers.
2016: Sennheiser RS 170
The Sennheiser RS 170 were the last pair of Sennheiser headphones that Pewdiepie ever wore in his channel. Their sharp contrast of silver on black design was elegant. They’re easily recognizable and unlike anything PewDiePie has worn. One of their earliest appearances could be seen in this video.
The RS 170 are wireless headphones that continue Sennheiser’s legacy of quality headphones. They come with a charging cradle/base that also serves as their transmitter, which can send signals at up to 260 feet (more than 79 meters) range.
The headphones also feel comfortable when worn. They have none of that clamping feeling and the earcups supplement this feature. And, RS 170’s wireless surround sound capabilities can fully immerse you in online battles, movies. or music.
If there’s any downside to this product is that they’re not portable. These were clearly designed for both high spec gaming and private home theater viewing. But, if portability is a non-issue then these headphones are for you, especially if you consider yourself a sound connoisseur.
2015: Sennheiser Game Zero
This was the first pair of Sennheiser headphones Pewdiepie wore in his gameplay videos. The Game Zero was an attempt by Sennheiser to capitalize on the booming gaming market. So it only makes sense that they make an endorsement deal with PewDiePie to showcase it. One of their earliest appearances was in a July 2015 video.
Like Sennheiser’s past efforts, these wired headset feels comfortable and lightweight. They also have a sturdy build. The Game Zero have a black color scheme accented with red. Their over-the-ear earcups are a bit large but they fit snugly on the ears without ever feeling tight.
They also feature a pivoting microphone, which automatically mutes itself when placed in a vertical position.
Moreover, the sounds the Game Zero produce are quite balanced, They focus on the midrange while providing a nice roll-off at the high end. If there’s any downside is that the bass is weak. They also have no support for surround sound. But, despite them being a stereo-only headset, their sound output is excellent.
2014: Razer Kraken Forged Edition
The Kraken Forged Edition are the other pair of headset PewDiePie wore in 2014. He alternates them with his red Kraken Pro Neon. One of the earliest videos he was seen wearing these was in his Why? Just Cause 2 video.
These headphones have a metallic silver design that screams “premium.” The closed ear cups design of this headset are foldable. They even come packaged with a hard carrying case. It’s such a shame they’re not wireless. However, this is only a minor issue as Razer is not known to stray too far from their regular edition headphones.
The microphone is in a separate inline cable. It produces clear sounds when on the phone or during online chats. And, it has a tendency to be sensitive and catch some background noises when used .
The headset feels comfortable to wear even for long periods of time. When playing games, the 40 mm. drivers perform excellently. But only average when it comes to playing back music. They have a rich, deep bass. Also, there is some muddiness heard in the mids.
2014: Razer Kraken Pro Neon Analog Gaming Headset
The Kraken Pro Neon headphones come in a variety of colors. But Pewdiepie opted to wear the neon red version in most of his 2014 videos. One of their earliest appearances were during gameplay footage of a horror game.
One of the benchmarks of a good gaming headset (aside from the sound quality) are how comfortable they feel. The Kraken Neon Pro get a high score in this aspect. They provide plenty of cushioning for comfort. They’re also light, weighing in at 0.65 lbs.
These headphones are wired, so there’s no latency to worry about when online.
The Kraken Neon Pro delivers above-average sounds with 40 mm. drivers. They emphasize the lows (which is good in games) while the mids are quite good. The highs, meanwhile, have sub-par quality. That’s why they ultimately deliver an above-average sound quality overall.
2012: Razer Electra Gaming Headset
The Razer Electra is definitely not PewDiePie’s first pair of headphones. But they’re easily one of the most iconic he’s worn just as his channel started to get traction with a broader audience. One of their earliest appearances could be seen in this 2012 video.
It was around this time when PewDiePie’s uploaded videos were focused mostly on horror games. This may explain why he used a gaming headset with above-average sound capabilities.
Razer Electra are wired headphones that are bulky but solidly built to last while remaining comfortable. However, some pressure may be felt when worn for extended periods of time.
Additionally, the detachable microphone is also quite good without being too sensitive.
The 40 mm. drivers have above-average quality sounds. However, you may find yourself increasing the volume to get more out of them. The bass is passable but fades too quickly.
These were clearly marketed with middle-range gamers in mind. Don’t expect much from their performance with other media aside from gaming. Sounds are just decent for its price tag, but they’re worth a look at least.
