Moondrop is stepping up its game with these releases.

Moondrop just introduced two new products: the flagship Cosmo planar magnetic headphones and the EVO true wireless earhook adapters.

The Cosmo feature advanced planar technology and exceptionally thin diaphragms for superior sound quality. Meanwhile, the EVO allow users to enjoy their favorite in-ear monitors (IEMs) wirelessly.

The Moondrop Cosmo have a large 100mm planar magnetic driver with a few extra features.

For one, these drivers use the Full Drive Technology (FDT). This helps to evenly drive the entire diaphragm surface for accurate sound reproduction.

They also have an ultra-thin diaphragm, measuring about 500 nanometers thick, for wider frequency response and faster detail retrieval. This means it can pick up subtle sound details usually missed by regular headphones.

As shown in the graph, Moondrop Cosmo have a fairly neutral sound profile with a slight emphasis on the lower treble. But they have less extension into the highest treble frequencies. This can mean a less bright or airy sound, which may affect the perception of ‘sparkle’ or ‘airiness’ in the music.

All this is achieved by using 36 very large N52 neodymium strip magnets that create a flat magnetic field that covers the entire vibrating part of the speaker.

The setups are fine-tuned with FEA (a computer simulation type) to ensure the magnetic fields are evenly spread and work well across the vibrating areas.

To further enhance sound quality, Cosmo’s circuit is made of pure silver, which improves its electrical efficiency and reduces heat loss. This demonstrates the headphones’ high-quality construction and durability.

In addition, Tension Balancing Technology helps reduce dynamic distortion, resulting in a clearer and more stable sound.

The new design also includes special waveguide components on both sides of the diaphragm, which help reduce phase cancellation. These make the high tones smoother and the overall sound clearer and more lifelike.

Alongside the Cosmo, Moondrop also released the newest earhook, the Moondrop EVO.

The Moondrop EVO are True Wireless Bluetooth earhooks that do not have traditional earbuds. Instead, they feature removable silicone earhooks that fit around the ear. This provides additional support and stability, especially during active use.

The earhooks are attached to the earbuds’ housing, which contains the audio technology. They are compatible with most Moondrop IEM models, such as the Moondrop Variations, Aria, Starfield, and Blessing, among others.

The EVO should also work with non-Moondrop IEMs. To ensure compatibility, it is important to check the specifications of the earbuds you want to use. Look for the connector type and ensure it is a 0.78mm 2-pin connector.

The EVO feature dual ES9318 decoding chips that handle each sound channel separately for very clear audio. They use Bluetooth 5.2, which allows high-quality, quick sound transfer with aptX Adaptive.

Unlike typical charging cases, the EVO’s case is large enough to fit other earbuds. It also has a durable zipper closure, so your earbuds are both charged and kept safe.
