You can soon mix and master music without a single mouse click.
How music is made is about to change with the first-ever Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) for Apple Vision Pro, the RipX DAW. Developed by Hit’n’Mix, it’s the first immersive DAW with a 3D display for the Apple headset, letting users see and interact with their music in a completely new way.
RipX DAW for Apple Vision Pro
The RipX DAW is the world’s first Spatial & 3D AI DAW. This platform offers a fresh way of creating music by being fully integrated with the unique Apple Vision Pro’s interface.
Central to its innovation is the presentation of audio in a fully editable, three-dimensional space.
This unique approach allows users to interact with sound in a way that traditional DAWs, reliant on waveforms, cannot match. All audio, regardless of being live-recorded, MIDI, or stem-separated, is displayed as editable notes. Here, each instrument is distinguishable by its spatial positioning.
With Apple Vision Pro, users can move around and play with the audio in a way that feels almost physical. This allows users to work with music using hand gestures and movements in a vivid, color-coded 3D environment.
Martin Dawe, the CEO of Hit’n’Mix and the brain behind RipX DAW, shares the idea behind this innovation.
“Our goal has been to simplify and clean up how we make music with an AI DAW, and to innovate in the new space of virtual music-making. We’re thrilled that RipX DAW is recognized as the top AI DAW of its kind.” he says.
“We’re even more excited to bring a new, interactive way to compose music with Apple Vision Pro, giving users freedom to make music wherever they want, using our unique Rip audio format.”
RipX DAW Features
Aside from the new ways of controlling the DAW due to Apple Vision Pro’s UI, the RipX Pro also introduces a few more features.
A standout feature is the “world’s first audio separation sampler”. This allows users to break down songs into multiple layers. Then, they can selectively add sounds to the Sounds Panel for remixing, offering a new level of sound manipulation and sampling.
RipX DAW also brings extensive editing tools. This includes time-stretching, adjustments to stereo panning on any track, and controls over volume and EQ. Users can dynamically create and edit loops, enabling the spontaneous creation of new music.
The software is also equipped with a wide range of built-in live effects like Reverse, Delay, and Vibrato.
Some other notable features are:
- Add Harmony to enhance and thicken the vocals
- Shift Formant changes sound characteristics.
- Low/High Pass filters introduce atmospheric shifts
- Draw Sound tool allows you to create new notes and samples and add them to the rip.
- Automatic Detect feature identifies the musical keys, notes, and chords. It also helps align notes to the correct pitches, all within one app.
The 3D interface is not just for show; it aids in audio repair and cleanup, removing unwanted noise and refining sounds. It also helps with adjusting overtone levels and regenerating bass frequencies lost in mixing.
Ultimately, Hit’n’Mix likens the RipX DAW to the ‘Photoshop’ of audio. It aims to pave new paths for creators to explore, experiment, and bring their musical ideas to life within the immersive environment of Apple Vision Pro.
Availability and Pricing
Hit’n’Mix hasn’t given an estimated release date, yet. But, the RipX DAW is expected to retain its price of $99 for the Apple Vision Pro. For those looking for more, the RipX DAW PRO version offers extra features for $198. This version includes advanced tools for cleaning up stems, an AI Music Generator, and more professional DAW features.
