The Diana DZ aim to prove that comfort and quality could actually coexist.

For those tired of bulky over-ears weighing you down, the Diana DZ are tempting alternatives that don’t scrimp on sound quality.

These are the latest additions to Abyss headphones’ famous Diana series. And, they’re claimed to strike that sweet spot between comfort, style, and stellar audio performance we’ve all been craving for.

The Diana DZ pack a host of upgrades over its predecessors, starting with their light weight.

These headphones weight just around 315 grams without the ear pads and 375 to 385 grams with them on. This makes them the lightest Diana model ever made.

Their machined aluminum frame houses a well-built inner structure for strength and acoustics. This works with the DMR frame set with a new M3 type, which keeps things sleek while maintaining that iconic Diana look.

Comfort isn’t an afterthought for the Diana DZ.

First, there’s a new soft sling in the headband that spreads out the weight evenly and stops pressure points during long listening sessions.

The headphones also have very light clamping force and a new hybrid ear pad design that mixes suede on the face with leather inside and out. These pads add to the comfort and keep the headphones looking slim and discreet when you wear them.

According to Abyss, they checked that the new ear pads have the same frequency response as all-leather pads on this model. So, you get more comfort without losing any audio performance.

But don’t let its compact size mislead you. The Diana DZ delivers vast, nuanced sound with beautiful imaging and realism.

Under the hood, a 63mm planar driver with a 50-ohm impedance affords these cans the finest resolution in the Diana lineup. Because of this, they are an easier load with punchier, more visceral bass response compared to the Diana TC.

While this means they are easy to driver, Abyss says these can only truly shine when paired with high-end tube or solid-state gear.

The Diana DZ can also keep up with the best systems to offer fresh insights into your music and gear with every listen.

These work with all Diana accessories like alternate ear pads and bass porting too. And, the low distortion means you can tweak the EQ extensively and crank up the volume without compromising fidelity.
