It’s like a secret club for musicians.
Tidal kicks off Tidal Circles, an in-app social network designed to create a supportive community among artists on the platform. This helps musicians, DJs, and content creators connect, share stories, and exchange tips on making it in the music scene.
What Is Tidal Circles?
Tidal Circles intends to be a special corner in the Tidal app where artists can talk shop about their work and team up.
On Circles, artists can dive into all sorts of key topics.
It has four main forum topics: Touring & Booking, Fans & Social, Merchandise, and Music Creation. These categories let artists explore specific parts of their careers and ask for advice from their peers.
The platform also has a search function so users can easily find specific conversations and topics they’re interested in.
Artist Safety in Circles
To keep them safe, artists using Tidal Circles can choose to post comments as themselves or anonymously.
This gives a level of privacy and comfort for those who want to share their experiences without revealing who they are. It is important in an industry where how you’re seen can really affect your path.
Aside from that, Tidal has a dedicated team to check the conversations on the platform. This makes sure everything said in Circles follows the platform’s rules to keep the artists safe and their information private.
Other Recent Updates on Tidal
Besides Circles, Tidal also recently introduced other updates to support artists and improve the user experience.
This includes Tidal Collabs, a feature to help artists find creative partners.
Launched in November 2023, Tidal Collabs is a tool that connects artists to those with similar styles and interests. The feature offers recommendations for compatible artists, making it easier for users to find and message potential collaborators.
Tidal also recently announced plans to streamline its subscription offerings.
Starting April 10, 2024, Tidal will combine its HiFi and HiFi Plus tiers into a single “Tidal” plan. This change will allow subscribers to access all HiFi Plus features, including lossless, HiRes FLAC, and Dolby Atmos formats, for just $10.99 per month.
